McLaren Prepared MP4-26 Upgrade

Having failed to apply the upgrade packages in Istanbul, McLaren is now preparing to apply at the Spanish GP at the weekend. The amount of the package was up to 12.

McLaren previously prepared a number of new aspects in the GP of Turkey, but problems in the manufacturing process to make an update it can not be used because the matter of reliability.

Without these upgrades, McLaren did not achieve satisfactory results in Istanbul with Lewis Hamilton finish in fourth position while in the top six. But the upgrades, plus a number of other enhancements, will be tested in Catalunya since Friday.

"We have a package that will upgrade our car in Spain - we bring an upgrade to each race - but overall we will have about 10 or 12 upgrade, some of which will be visible from the outside and some are not visible," said Technical Director McLaren F1 Team, Goss on ESPN.

"Our goal is obviously to win the race, race and eventually win the championship, and to do so we had to cut the difference from the Red Bull and get rid of the problems," he added.

The back of the MP4-26 is called will feature a number of the upgrade. That part has even experienced a major change from the initial design.

"We will evaluate all of our upgrades on Friday in Spain and that looks good will we carry on," Goss straightforward.

Button Expect to Catch Red Bull

Jenson Button warned his team, McLaren, to quickly clean up since the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend in order to provide pressure for Red Bull.

Of the four series so far, through Sebastian Vettel Red Bull appeared very dominant. McLaren himself was showing signs of revival in China in the third series when Lewis Hamilton beat Vettel, but on the fourth series McLaren even back scattered.

With the results of four series so far, Vettel had topped the standings with 34 points from Hamilton's advantage is in second position. Button who finished his teammate Hamilton in the McLaren while behind 47 points from the defending champion.

"We must not remain silent, we must continue to move forward," said Button as reported by ESPN F1.

The main reason for not satisfying performance of the McLaren is the lack of updates on the MP4-26 because of reliability problems. This is what must be addressed by McLaren at this weekend at Catalunya.

"This team never gave up, I knew it, and I am very confident they will bring positive improvement to Barcelona."

"Red Bull is definitely fast and they have a lot of points this time, but that could all change quickly if you give them a big pressure. So we have to make sure can do it as quickly as possible," said Button.
