Snatch third place in the Hungarian F1 event series, the Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso, the more optimistic his team would speak volumes in this 2011 F1 season. Moreover, in the last four series, Alonso was always on the podium.
"We're confident will perform better in the second half this season. Ferrari getting better and we raced to grab the podium and pole position," said Alonso, who started in fifth position and finished as champion three at the Hungaroring circuit.
Despite failing to win, Alonso admitted achievement this time is enough to satisfy her. Moreover, with the race conditions like that where a lot of overtaking and pit stops occurred, the double world champion was still able to finish on the podium.
"Start not as good as i predict, two Mercedes cars to overtake us at the start. So I should be able to overtake Nico (Rosberg) and Michael (Schumacher), then by the time I was stuck behind (Mark Webber) when pitspot. Then I can get a little more freely and slightly faster but in the first 20 laps, we were lagging behind the Mercedes as well as Mark, "explained Alonso at the Autosport.
"I think with the type of racing now is very, very long - you need to always focus with many pit stops and also the weather conditions changing," he continued.
15 points achievements does not make Alonso rose from fourth position of the world standings with 145. But the distance with Webber in second place just four points gap.
So his appearance on July increasingly convinced Alonso if Ferrari can bounce in the second half of the season, as he did last season. Race itself will be off for a month and begin again August 28 at the Belgian GP.
July is a fantastic month, said Alonso. Alonso won the most points in July, on three conditions and three different trajectories. Ferrari and McLaren are progressing well as the more advanced so that competition becomes more attractive because it is no longer dominated the Red Bull team.
Alonso said he was prefer hot weather because it makes the tires became more optimal performance. In July it less too hot for him. However, in August and September, Alonso is hoping the weather will be warmer so that he can perform even better.
