As quoted from the official F1 website on Thursday (30/06/2011), Alonso get an injection of new motivation from John Surtees, the man who won the world championship with Ferrari in 1964.
"He is a very interesting fellow to talk. We compared the experience as a racer, and in general from all that we talked about how our lives together a special team like Ferrari," Alonso said.
"It's nice to meet someone who can give you first hand information about what kind of Formula 1 in the past."
Surtees visited the headquarters of Ferrari, Maranello earlier this week. In the two-day visit, the man nicknamed 'figlio del VENTO' aka 'son of the wind' was to meet a number of museum staff and visiting team's Ferrari "Prancing Horse".
What response Surtees on Alonso? "When I saw the eyes of Fernando, I could see the same determination with which I had when I was racing," said the man from England.
"Time flies, but passion for racing is something that was never replaced even though it has crossed the count of the century. If you have it, then you can see it in others."
