Test Driver of McLaren, Pedro de la Rosa, suggested his team to forget the effort to catch the F1 title this season, Friday (2 / 9). McLaren advised to focus on pursuing improvements in the 2012 season.
Pedro's statement contradicts the head of McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh, who still want a title for this season. Whitmarsh has always stressed there are still seven series that can be won by the team to beat the Red Bull team and driver Sebastian Vettel.
After winning the Belgian GP at Spa-Francorchamps circuit, last week, Vettel is now a difference of 92 points from a team colleague, Jenson Button. While the McLaren duo of drivers, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton finished fourth and fifth with a difference of 18 points and 21 points from Button.
With that much difference and the appearance of the Red Bull team rider is always excellent, said Pedro, it is impossible for both McLaren drivers chasing them.
"Maybe it's time to forget the struggle for the title and start thinking about what to do in 2012. We have to do anything to prevent the domination of the Red Bull team next season," said Pedro.
