Mercedes Need Time

Norbert Haug said his team needs time to win the F1 title. Today, Mercedes has undergone two F1 season with unsatisfactory results.

"Compared with the Red Bull team, they took five years to build the system and the first victory won by Sebastian Vettel, Toro Rosso, a former racer. With all due respect to the Red Bull team, they need time to win. We also have to accept we need time to become champion, "said Haug, in Munich.

According to Haug, the time needed rather than just two years from now but it is much longer. The team that can succeed is less than five years and without spending a lot of money is a very special team,

Mercedes returned to F1 with their own team last year, after buying the team Brawn at the end of 2009. At that time, Brawn has just become world champion in the category of constructors and rider categories, with Jenson Button.

Mercedes can not repeat the success of Brawn in 2010. Great hope emerged in the 2011 season but the results remain disappointing.

Haug said the expectation was too much. Mercedes team is currently focused to overcome engine problems and improve the quality of the cars for the future.

"Mercedes team have done a good preparation in this season but the team Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari are also doing a much better preparation. We position ourselves at number four this season, while working hard to become the best in F1 for some coming years, "said Haug.
