Sebastian Vettel started to feel uncomfortable with the results achieved in the last three races of Formula 1 (F1) season 2011. Red Bull Racing failed to embrace victory, after passing the beginning of the season was fantastic. Therefore, the 2010 world champion has asked his team to get up and go back to victory track on the next series.
In the race at Hungaroring Circuit, Hungary, on Sunday (31.07.11), Vettel had to settle for being runner-up. He was unable to compete with McLaren driver, Jenson Button, who appeared impressive in the race, which had marred the rain at the beginning. Nevertheless, the results in the series to 11 can make Vettel keep promise to sustain the world title, because now he's the advantage over his closest rival in the standings.
Additional 18 points in the Hungarian Grand Prix makes Vettel is now collected a total of 234 points, 85 ahead of teammate, Mark Webber, who only finished fifth. However, another concern is the progress of the McLaren and Ferrari, which is more frightening. Therefore, Vettel, who just one win from the last five races, hoping the Red Bull could be more resilient in the Belgian Grand Prix in late August.
"I have a little difficulty when first using intermediate tires. Lewis (Hamilton) a little faster and then I go to the Curve 2 is too deep, it is quite complicated - he was pushing pretty hard and I try to be on the edge," said Vettel.
"In certain parts, I realized it was too slow, so I make room, because I know the white lines and green paint after it very slippery, making it easy to place a spin, and I lost a position as a leader."
"After that the track surface to dry out. I think we may be early to the pits and super-soft tires wear - at first I felt pretty good, but there are many shortcomings, I think it's the same thing for all of us."
"With the recent ban, I feel I have more speed. But with 20 laps remaining, it is difficult to know how hard and long the tires lasted until the end, so I can not accelerate as fast as desired. However, the position of the two also have an important result."
Vettel did occupy pole position in the race - the eighth pole this season - but he did not compete in most of the race. Button and Lewis Hamilton is almost dominated the competition throughout the race.
Only when Hamilton slid, and finally thrown into the fourth position, Vettel finds itself competing with Button. However, Button was overtaken. British rider was able to maintain a distance with Vettel to dispute the time to 8.2 seconds before the end of the race.
Vettel of course disappointed. Moreover, he thought he could win all 11 races this season was. "Today I'm not 100 percent happy. I started from the pole and I was able to win the race," he said in Autosport.
"McLarens are strong in all conditions, and it is clear that in the two races now that they have made a step forward. We need to make sure that can be tough again on the next race."
